Ash Wednesday begins the 40-day journey of Lent. We remember our humanness and all that it holds: sin, brokenness, confession, reconciliation and the promise of resurrection hope and promise, We invite you to drive through the church parking lot from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 to receive ashes in the sign of the cross on your forehead or on the back of your hand. The ashes are made from palm branches that were waved on Palm Sunday when Jesus entered Jerusalem and oil for healing. The cross is a symbol of Christ, as he too, journeyed for 40-days in the wilderness reflecting on humanity and his role in it, his call to serve, and his relationship with God. Hope to see you on this Holy day.
